Food web is an important ecological concept. It is a conceptual tool for illustrating the feeding relationships among and between organisms within a community, revealing species interactions and community structure, and understanding the dynamics of energy transfer in an ecosystem. Food webs consist of a number of food chains in an ecosystem. Each food chain is one possible path that energy and nutrients may take as they move through the ecosystem. All of the interconnected and overlapping food chains in an ecosystem make up a food web. Understanding these relationships is absolutely vital to understanding the complexity of ecosystems. Oh, the tangled web
